We love ground beef and have collected our favorite recipes to make sure that you won’t hit a dinner rut as long as you have ground beef in your freezer. From traditional recipes to new soon-to-be-classics, we have you covered.

At truLOCAL, we love ground beef. We think that it is incredibly versatile, easy to cook, doesn't take up too much space in the freezer, and is a great source of protein and minerals. It’s no wonder that it is a mainstay of most family household freezers. We love it because it can take on so many flavors and styles of whatever recipe you use it in. It’s in most of our favorite foods - hamburgers, tacos, chili, meatballs, and so much more. Is there anything that ground beef can’t do? Okay, well obviously vegetarian dishes… 

We see the versatility of ground beef as a way to break through those end-of-winter blahs where we just seem to make the same meals week after week. Let’s use ground beef to shake up the routine. We have collected some of our favorite recipes and made sure that they were new twists on ground beef favorites.

Chili Con Carne.

Chili is one of those simple to make yet complex-tasting recipes that you can use to impress your guests. It pairs beautifully with nacho chips and football, and makes for great leftovers.

Our favorite chili recipe is a traditional one that covers all the basics but the best part about chili is that it can be made many different ways to suit your taste - or pantry supplies! If you prefer a keto-friendly option, try our Low Carb Keto Chili.

Skillet Cottage Pie.

Do you know what cottage pie is? Either did we until we saw this recipe but don’t worry. It is n’t complicated. Cottage pie is almost exactly like shepherd’s pie except for the meat. While shepherd’s pie is made traditionally with ground lamb, cottage pie is made with ground beef. It turns out that we have been eating cottage pie this whole time! Cottage pie is one of our faves because it is basically an entire meal of meat, veggies, and potatoes made right in one dish (which helps with the clean up afterwards).

Crispy Beef Bowls.

You gotta try this recipe. It is quick, easy, and light. It has so much flavor and can be served either hot or cold depending on your preference. It is an Asian-inspired masterpiece.

Lettuce Wrap Sloppy Joes.

So you thought that you knew sloppy joes, right? Well, they have changed a lot since you were a kid. Now they can be low-carb options, served right on a piece of lettuce. Think that you might miss the burger bun too much? No worries. This recipe is great on a bun too. Actually, it would be great on rice, pasta, veggies, hotdogs,.. almost anything.

Mexican Stuffed Peppers.

Beef and veggies are a magical combination that serve as the basis for many dishes. This one kinda turns that idea on its head but leaving the peppers nearly uncut and stuffing them with beef, beans, cheese, and flavor.  

Cheesy Bacon Burger Casserole.

We think that casseroles were not given a fair deal. They mastered the golden age of America but have been shamed since the 70s. Why? Because they were too delicious or easy to make? Forget all that mess - we think that casseroles are great. Our favorite is a burger-inspired casserole, complete with all the toppings.
